XTRA Burden on the People

The Central Government put extra burden on the people by announcing the hike in domestic fuel prices and it effective from
today (12:00 AM, 05-June-08). The people who already suffering from the budget of their house, this increment make their task, a more complicated one and put extra burden on that.HIKE IN PRICES OF DOMESTIC FUEL:
PETROL: RS 5 per ltr.
DIESEL: RS 3 per ltr.
LPG: RS 50 per cylinder.
The prices of the Kerosene oil however, have been left untouched.
For the first time any PM of the India addressed the nation regarding the hike in Domestic fuel prices. He said, "I know that the price increases we have had to announce today will not be popular, though they are only modest." to ease the burden on the consumer, Pm asked the States to reduce their local taxes. He said, "The Central government, oil companies and consumers are bearing a part of this immense burden. It is, therefore, incumbent on State governments, many of whom tax petroleum products substantially, to contribute to this national effort by suitably reducing state taxes and levies."
